Dimensioning Text (Manipulators)

When attaching text to a dimension with the use of the "Manipulators", can the spacing be changed between the text and the dimension. I can't seem to find anything in the Standard that will change this value.
For example" 4X 2.250
I'd like to edit the spacing between the "X" and the "2".
