Is it possible to break a view around a dimension? I tried the "Broken View" command but it does not allow me to hide the break lines.

Thanks

Correct me if I am wrong but it sounds like you're trying to trim the break lines to the edge of the part?

Go to Tools > Options > Detail see the Break line extensions setting.

Set that to Zero and it will eliminate the breakline extending past the part line.

CorBlimeyLimey,
Yes it is our IT. I can see it from home.

But how do I eliminate the break line all together? I just want to break the part lines without leaving any other lines. Very similar to how to looks when you break dimension lines around one another.

I think I understand what you're wanting. You want to have a "gap" in the object line (part edge) for the dimension's witness line to pass through. I don't think you can do that. I'm not too familiar with dimensioning standards, but I doubt that would be acceptable under any of the "standard" standards.

I would just change the line type of the breakline so it appears to be a part line. Anything more than that I think you're asking for something that is not "standard" in drawing practices.
