Is there a way of implicitly stating the orientation a DIN509 undercut is to be applied?

The bit of standard I have doesnt say so (although I only have 1 page of it and it's in German). For those not sure, DIN509 undercuts are not symetrical about the bisection of the corner.
As much as I trust the machinists to look at the part and do it the right way round, I would like to be 100% clear on the drawing anyway.

Drawing standard by the way is what ever the ISO standard is (I have been drawing to BS8888 since I started and it's matched up fine so far)

I have included a shot of how I am currently applying the detail.

Many thanks.

FYI That would be because BS8888 is a compendium of the BS versions of the various ISO & EN standards.

I'm afraid I don't know the answer to your actual question though, sorry.

Posting guidelines faq731-376 (probably not aimed specifically at you)

Kenat, I remember 308 being pretty much the same as our european sister companies at the time other than the dot for a decimal point. That went when 8888 proposed the comma.

Pmarc, thanks for the file. It looks to be a newer version of the one I have. I think I'm going to have to source myself a german speaker from somewhere tomorrow.
