i have a 50 kw hydraulic motor , driving at 300 RPM ( 1500 N/m torque )

i want to check that a DIN 5480 spline 40 - 3 - 12 - 9H

can transmit that torque , spline length is 40 mm

i am machining a shaft from 4340 steel , no heat treatment after machining , the splined part is the smallest diameter ( weakest link )

the shaft is very short

someone got numbers i can check for that spline please ?

thankyou kindly

You can use that document for a ballpark value. If you need the exact number, then you should obtain this standard:

DIN 5466-2 Splined joints, calculation of load capacity - Part 2 Splined joints according to DIN 5480
