We are looking at the DIN specification to cover cross recessed flat head screws which seems to be referenced as DIN 965-M5X19-A2-70-H. However, when I search the DIN standards (eg: DIN ISO 965 refers to the screw thread only.

Is there another "DIN 965" specification to cover machine screws?

Thanks

Try DIN EN ISO 7046. I think that's why you are looking for.

A good side to search for ISO and DIN standards is (available in English).

brin,

As micalbrch mentions, you want ISO 7046-1 or -2. DIN 965 has been withdrawn and superceded by DIN ISO 7046-1 or -2. The only difference between the ISO version and the DIN ISO version is that the latter is German language.

thanks TVP and micalbrch. It just seemed confusing that the DIN 965 spec referred to screw threads in the title and yet there are numerous companies on the internet that use DIN 965 in the screw part number.

We will order the ISO 7046 spec and have a look at it.
