Does anyone know of a DIN rail mounted regulator that can accept 12V and supply 7.5V at 1A? Linear or switching it does not matter (except cooling might be a problem if linear)
Is 12 V all you have? Rail mounted PSUs for 230 or 110 V AC are common. But going from 12 to 7.5 V DC is usually done using a heat sink and a three-leg regulator. You may need a 5 V device and a voltage divider to get 7.5 V.
Thanks for the suggestions- my Phoenix rep came up with a great switcher solution but it's $400 list.....the EMG 75-NZG/G 5/2 will work since it has adjustable output..
Do your search for "DC to DC Converter" or "DC to DC Power Supply". Regulator is not a common term for them.
7.5V is not going to be common. Look for one with an adjustable output voltage that will cover that within it's range. Those in dpc's link should fit the bill however, if you get the 8V unit and adjust the output.
Put a diode in series with the 8V supply. Output will be somewhere between 7.3 and 7.6 depending on just how close to rating the diode junction is operating.
