Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knew how to completely disable Realview Graphics. Ultimately, I would like to eliminate the check box that would allow you to choose Realview graphics. Is there any file that I could change that would eliminate this check box.

I went through several of the XML and XSD files yet was unable to find exactly where the material editor dialogue box is created.

Any ideas?

Hello,

A simple way to make this happen would be to go to your SolidWorks installation directory and rename the "shaders" directory to something like "Orig_Shaders".

This disables the realview functionality as it cant get to the files it needs, and you can always rename it back if you want to use the realview graphics in the future.

You could downgrade to a video card which does not support Real View.

Turn on the Software OpenGL. That will disable your video card all together and the Realview will not work anymore.

You can uncheck realview when you have the model open, from the property manager.

The amount of overhead resources needed to create some of the huge assemblies or even complex parts takes up way too computing power. It is best if the option is not even available.

Maybe that' true for you. If that's the case then get a card that doens't support Realview graphics but is an approved card for SW and you will not have anything to worry about. Like CBL mentioned above.
