I would like to model a displacement up to a specific point.

I’ve modeled a plate witch expands due to a thermal load, starts to displace. I would like to stop this movement at specific point. Is this possible?

If I understood your problem correctly, you have to solve in multiple load steps. Create first load step with giving the known displacement to free end and in second load step constraining that end.
Cheers..
