Display diameter as linear dimension on PCD

Hello,

I have got an item with a number of PCDs which I would like to dimensions horizontally above the item. Simple enough I thought, but though I can display the dimension as diameter on one leader, SW 2011 does not let me dimension them as linear dimension. Well, it does when I right click and choose "display as linear dimension", but unfortunately that dimensions does not snap horizontaly or verticaly.

I can easily get the required result on round shapes, holes etc but not on PCDs.

Any thoughts?

Sounds like a good enhancement request for the Horizontal or Vertical positioning to snap in. I've often found it annoying but achievable by moving the Diameter so the Leader/Dimension Line to be oriented along Horizontal or Vertical direction and then swap it to a linear diameter in the property manager. This is easier if you drag the dimension outside it's circle and then use the Snap to Center option to center the dim value.

I tried mjoles way and though the single leader was horizontal/vertical when switching to linear dimension the leaders moved a couple of degrees out. Switching to different leader style helped eventually. But the "easiest" way is to use the dot above the linear dimension after it has been created and then snap it into position.

Thanks for you answers!
