Hi,

first of all: Sorry for my bad english. I hope you can understand my topic.

In MathCAD I want to solve a relatively complex equation with at least two unknowns.

The equation has got the following style: x + y + a = b, with a and b as constants.

Now I want to dissolve to x or y. After command "...solve,x -> q" MathCAD notices "No Solution found". I think the equation is too complex.

So is there any other possibility to compute x or y after defining one of them?

Here the link to the equation:
Thanks for help.

Why are you using the symbolic solver? The odds are low that a symbolic solution even exists.

I used the symbolic solver because I don`t know any other...

Which solver should I use better?

I don`t need the solved equation necessarily. I need to know the solution of one of the variables depending on the equation by defining the other variable on my own.

The numeric solver, which uses a Given-Find construct. See the help files.
