Bonal offers vibratory stress relief. There have been a few threads on that.

I think that OP was asking how the "Black Magic" unit offered by Bonal works. Perhaps he is concerned that, without feedback from the workpieces in the form of resonance pattern data (The BM unit holds magnetically on a little table, and there is a vibrator in the table) how can this system work? Vibratory stress relief, or at least the vast majority of research that was successful in making it work, has shown that flexure of the workpiece is key to the process.

But perhaps we can hear more from the OP.

The Black Magic system incorporates the world's most successful vsr process - "Meta-Lax" ( in treating whatever is clamped to its table top. I assure you that the part "flexes" during the process. But what is more important is the FACT that Black Magic processing works and works consistently. Did you read the feature article that appeared in Modern Application News in their January 2007 issue? An aerospace supplier by the name of Mooney Industries was detailing how well the Black Magic system was working for them. Mooney was able to reduce normal distortion by 80% using their Black Magic system.

Dear BTI Guy,

Perhaps we could hear directly from some / any / one of the Black Magic users?

As far as the Black Magic approach being the most successful, is there any independent research that collaborates this point? If so, perhaps this research can be submitted to the VSR On-Line Research Library (several researchers have submitted their work directly for inclusion):
