Divide Function. 1

Is there a divide function in DS. I want to divide a curved line up into 34 equal sections.

I haven't run across a command like that yet, but I do have a work around.
You can use the "markdivisions" command to mark your sections and then place an "infiniteline" through each point. If you make 2 copies of your line you can trim between every other line segment and then align the remaining segments together. One thing to note was that I had to go to Format/Point Style/Type to change the points from invisible dots to something actually visible. Oh, and make sure you place the points on a different layer so that they can be selected easily for deletion.

It also appears that you can Split a line at a given point. Fastest way would be to create a new keyboard shortcut for this command, and it should be faster than the above method of copying and trimming.

If you type divide, it opens the mark divisions command. This creates nodes at each segment(i.e. if you specify 4 segments, it will place nodes at the 1/4 points). Do you need the line actually broken into individual segments, or just the appropriate locations? Make sure you've got your esnap setting enabled for snap to node.

I just found the "Divide" command works for me. I did not need to section the line, just mark the sections. FYI, I meant 3-4, not 34.....
