hi
is the DNV RPB401 recommended practice used for offshore only or also for onshore cathodic protection design?
I'm thinking about the Coating breakdown factor. Fc=a+b*t is there any sense to use it in underground structures evenly coated (bottom tank ).

This RP is primarily intended for CP of permanently installed offshore structures associated with the
production of oil and gas.

The breakdown factors won't really be applicable to a soil exposure or to welding a tank bottom after coating. Use them if you have to in the absence of anything else, or in case you dislike the factors in ISO 15589-1, and then make sure that the hardware has sufficient leeway in the current capacity to turn the rectifier up if needs be.
