The chassis of the cars is designed to have An infinite life fatigue, but the frame is held together by spot welds on which I have not found any articles that demonstrate a real fatigue limit, so how is possible therefore that the frame has an endurance limit but the welds that hold it together don't?
If the frame does not record damage during normal use, should it not be the same also for welds? Should the fatigue limit not be designed on the basis of the welds since they are the most critical part of the frame itself?
Thanks
