I have seen victaulic pipe couplers used on wet sprinkler systems, i.e.those used for fire protection and not for lawn watering. Myrecollection is that they held up very well over the years. I believe that such couplers could hold up for chilled water systems but do talk to the manufacturers, suppliers and installers about your situation. Also get a copy of their product catalog featuring design engineering details for your edification.

chicobee: sprinklers don't experience temperature changes like hot or chilled water systems do. So there is a better chance to last.

Even without that thermal expansion, I suspect gaskets will deteriorate over time (like all gaskets).

Victaulic makes several types of fittings, couplings and gaskets. Make sure you've got the correct ones for your service.
