Do you need PPE after asbestos abatement?

Hi everyone,

If you have a building with asbestos, removal of drywall finishing was done with asbestos abatement. How hazardous the place would be after that? To what extent I should be careful with wearing and cleaning PPE? I know it's always better to take enough precautions but the question is more like academic or in principle.
Thank you for your input

Seems to me that depends on what precisely is meant by "asbestos abatement" If it means that all material was demo'd and removed, including the dust arising therefrom, then it should be fine. That assumes that the company doing the abatement is certified for this sort of thing and certifies their work to some plausible level.

You shouldn't do the job if you are not certified to perform the job. If you are certified, you won't ask this question. Find a certified, properly registered business that meeting both bond and insurance requirements.

Not sure of the requirements in your area, but where I practice, asbestos abatements have to be cleared by a licensed asbestos consultant. When done properly, there is no need to use PPE thereafter.

I've to apologize for getting the question wrong. Yes, as Ron suggested, no worry if done by a licensed/certified professional. If not, engage a testing company to determine the proper precautions before entry.
