I would like any SW document that I start or open to have Shaded and draft quality HLR/HLV resolution set to High and Wireframe and high quality HLR/HLV resolution set to High. How can I make this a default and save it?

Open a new document, make the change and then safe it as a template.

Make sure the File Locations and Default Templates are pointing to the correct (custom) folders and files.

File
Open
Change Files of type: to Template (*.prtdot, *.asmdot, *.drwdot)
Select the required template
Set the resolutions in tools > Options > Document Properties > Image Quality
Close and save the template

Repeat for all templates.

Thanks. No problems putting customer parts into my new assembly template but what is the best way to put customer parts into my new part template?

I don't understand the question. Is this related to the original question, or a separate question?

Can you expand on what you are wanting to do?

Easy, save the template part as a prtdot file, then use it to start a new part.

Check out: faq559-1429 and follow the link for mac_copydoc.zip. It is a macro in an excel spreadsheet which will copy the settings from one file to another. You can run that macro on the parts from your customer to get the settings to match your template.
