Hi guys,
I have been experimenting with single and dual plane balancing for a while. I use a simple accelerometer connected to an oscilloscope. I filter the signal using a low pass RC filter which seems to work well. Typically I setup the rotor, sample the signal and then adjust the RC filter using a trimpot. The RC filter is kept constant between the initial vibration run and the trial weight run.
My question: Is the phase shift generated by the RC circuit effecting the balance solution? (I assume that as the filtering is kept constant then the effect of lag between the two runs is negligible.)
cheers
