UG-99 (k)(2) quote:" when internal linings are to be applied, the pressure-retaining welds shall first be leak tested in accordance with Section V, Article 10."
Is the above applicable only to non-metallic linings since UG-99(k) talks about painting and coating?
Appendix 3 definition:
"lined vessel: a vessel having a corrosion resistant lining attached intermittently to the vessel wall."
Part UCL uses term LINING to describe metallic lining.
So, there is a pressure vessel with metallic lining attached intermittently to the vessel wall.
The question is can we have metallic lining in the vessel installed prior to the hydrostatic test without performing leak test according to Section V, Article 10 - as specified in UG-99 (k)(2)?
Thanks!
