We have a De-Oiling eXtraction (DOX) unit in our cracker complex under construction. It separates oil from quench water thereby resuing the water back in quench while oil goes to wash oil network. But there is a sludge generation expected from colacser dirty backwash vessel. My first concern is that we cant get hold of realistic sludge volume which could be generated. More over it needs special handling in collecting it from the vessel as it will have benzene in it. May I get some help from cracker experts on these issues i.e. 1) Sludge volume 2)typical composition 3) Handling requirements w.r.t.benzene levels. Thanks.
