This has been a long term issue going back to version NX4. This has been tested out in NX5, 6, and 7.5 with the same results.
Replicate the issue by creating a complex .stp file, import the file into nx, make edits to the model using Boolean operations. Now create a drafting view of the model, and you will see Hidden lines on the solid in a 2d view.
The only way to get rid of these lines is to do a view dependent edit, select all edges, and delete. While this method works great if this were to be a one and done scenario, this process has to be repeated many times a day on many different models. The update time of our UFUNC to automate the view dependent edit takes about 3 minutes to run to clear the lines. Any changes to the model and the update to clear the lines has to be ran again.
Is there something we are missing, or is this just an overlooked error of faceted faces on 3d models in a 2d drafting environment?
