I have been given the project of developing drafting and design practices for our office. I have alot of ideas that I want to incorporate into this, but I don't have a good place to start. Does anyone know of a "sample" I could download to get started??

We are tring to standardize view placement, notes, dimension layout, title blocks....things of that nature.

Any information is greatly appreciated!

Each company is going to have their own set of standards as related to the look of finished drawings. A good place to start with is industry standards.

Try looking at AMSE Y14.5M for ANSI standards that relate to drafting, font size and title block requirements. "The attempt and not the deed confounds us."

We broke down and bought a membership to the drafting zone. Thanks for the advice. Hopefully that will get us going in the right direction.

Thanks again

Check out the FAQ in the ASME forum for numbers and titles of standards you can use to set up title blocks, fonts, lineweights, etc.

Y14.5M is only for geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
