I am currently drafting some special threads on a part.

In part design I have created a text document specifying the thread names (Thread Description), and specification (pitch etc). I have then applied the thread to the part (Thread/Tap Definition).

However, when I come to detail the thread (Thread Dimension), it comes up with M5.2, instead of the correct thread name.

Can anybody enlighten me as to how to get Catia to input the thread name?

To get around the issue I tried creating a fake dimension, and giving it the thread name, but when I move it, it reverts back to M5.2. Very annoying.

Can anybody help?

Maybe the txt file does not have all info.
Here is what I do. Seems to work.

ThreadDiam Pitch HoleDiam AM NO_DESC_IN_DRAFTING
34mm 1.0mm 32.917mm M34x1.0 M34x1.0

Showa in only 2 lines in txt file.

Thanks mymylepire

Sorted it. I had this in my text document;

ThreadDiam. Pitch HoleDiam. M NO_DESC_IN_DRAFTING

As soon as I removed the M, it sorted the issue.

Cheers

Thanks mechanicalman!

I've been struggling with this for some time... never thought of removing "M"...

two stars from my side :)

Best regards,
Stely
