Drafting Lines Disappear when using "visable in view"

Hi all,
First off, I am using NX5 and every part in my file is a solid created in NX5. No translations. No surfaces.

I am using the "visible in view" command to illustrate the clamping procedures for a mulit-clamp operation.
Think shop floor setup instructions.

I achieve this by putting each set of clamps on it's own layer and then I choose the appropriate layers to show using "visible in view". Simple, yes?

However, for some reason UG is having a hard time making some of the view. See attached file.

You can see that when I turn on the "clamp" layer, the part view goes wonky.

And yes, I did update the drawing view. :)

Any ideas on why this may be happening? these are not complex parts at all; it is very simple geometry.

Thanks,
J

Nevermind...
I figured it out.

It had to do with interfering solids.

I rounded my clamp design to X.XXX" decimal places,
This caused the assy to interfere by a few tenths.

If your solids do interfer then you can use view dependent editing to get what you want. You will have to turn all hidden lines on (make them dashed or whatever) then edit that entire edge or edge segment to what you want, including solid.

Or in the view style change the hidden line display to include interfering solids and it can usually negotiate a fairly satisfactory result.

Cheers
