There are unique material and configuration requirements for select drain valves on power plant HP systems.

The ASME Boiler, Piping and other Pressure vessel and piping codes have requirements for blowdown (drain) valves

Specifically, boiler drain and blowdown valves as well as turbine drains must be carefully evaluated

Thank you, F91 T-globe valve used in thermal power plant had passing issue, when disassembled found 316 with Stellite6 Hard face Disc eroded at seating area, so wanted to understand more about drain valves.

Find a choke valve vendor who can give you tungsten carbide trim for demanding high pressure erosive conditions. This should do the job, as long as you dont have sand in the feedstream. One safe bet is Masterflo - an ExxonMobil favourite.
