How can I make a simple can open at one end with a metal rod attached to the side at and angle of 116.5 degrees? Do I create a circle and then extrude? How do I make it open at one end? I just don't know how to go about starting this? Very confused!

Can you post a sketch or picture so we can see what you mean?

I emailed it to you, because I don't know how to post pictures.

I received the picture (Word doc--I'll have to wait to open tomorrow).

Eng-tips doesn't have a space for posting pictures. Sometimes people are able to post things on their own webspace or FTP.

After I get a look, I would be willing to post it on my site for others to see, if that's OK by you.

Well kristie7 the can is easy. You could make a solid cylinder then use the shell command to have one closed end. Just pick the surface of the end you want open and set a thickness for the walls and bottom. As far as the metal rod that would just be a revolved boss from a plane that would intersect the main cylinder.
