Drilling Greek Ascoloy

simple question here probaby a simple answer. im trying to spot and drill greek ascoloy ams 5616 and cannot seem to keep tool life. i am using solid carbide drills size .098 and .199 also a .1875 100 degree carbide spot. first set of drills lasted 2 parts, 4 holes total. spot drill keeps chipping , melting. am running sfm of 75. can anyone advise here?

Hmmm... looks like your speed is too high, and your feed might be a bit low.

Are you using a cutting oil? Sulfur based oils will cause the cobalt binder to breakdown in carbide.

You might wnat to try TapMagic and High cobalt HSS bits instead of carbide.
