drop down menu in the asm navigator...slow

We just upgraded to NX 7.5, and I am finding that when I right click on an item in the assembly navigator, it takes about 15 seconds for the drop down menu to appear. It seems to me this happened when I upgraded to NX6, but I can't remember what I did to fix the problem. It doesn't seem to matter if it is a large assembly or a small one. Any help?

It's coming back to me now....it has something to do with part preview. How can I shut that off, or better yet, remove it from the navigator altogether, since it is something I never use, and is just a nuisance to me anyway.
