Hi
I would like to know the feasibility for the construction of High THK vessels (THK > 100 mm ) using DSS Material
Anyone can share previous expereince

Thanks

Which duplex?
Really that thick? Are you saying that if you made it in 316 you would need 250mm?
I have seen heavy sections done (120mm) in 2205 but the anneal required aggressive cold water quench in order to get correct properties through the section and the welding procedures were very demanding.
People start getting into trouble at 25mm and then it only gets worse as you go thicker.

Thank a lot for Response We are exploring the possibility of making Column ( 90 mm THK ) with Duplex (UNS S32205) in order to reduce the weight

Is it possible ?

Possible, yes.
It will take very good procedures in order to something that works.
You need to engage someone that has experience building thick 2205 towers.
This should not be an learning experience.

I would not even consider the above option because of cost and fabrication concerns. This is why they have cladding and overlays.
