Does anyone know of a specific code or standard that requires routine cleaning of OR, ER or other healthcare facility duct? I've checked through NFPA, AIA, ASHRAE, SMACNA, GGI and the only thing I can find is that the duct must be designed and constructed to readily facilitate inspection and cleaning, but does not cite a cleaning requirement.

Done that. No specific requirement. Closest thing I can find is NADCA ACR 2013 which recommends annual inspection and cleaning if needed. The maintenance staff does cleaning every year because that is what they have always done. I became curious because they did not have any written inspection and acceptance standard.
