osama800,

I'm sorry, but your question is much too vague / broad to be answered. Perhaps you could give a few more details, explaining exactly what it is you need help with?

hi friends:

i need estimate duct system for a/c and the owner want from me estimate the cost per square feet so i need your help
to estimate the quantites for this dimenstion :

30 feet * 20 feet (dimension of duct )for 15 feet

best regards

That is one big duct. Are you sure it is 30 feet by 20 feet? RS Means doesn't go up that large calculating the weight per SF.

hi friends:

thanks for all

my queation is very easy
i estimated the ductwork by weight but i get in one project
the owner want from me the cost per square feet .
how can i calculate it ????

best regards

(W + H) x 2 x L

W = Width of the duct
H = Height of the duct
L = Length of the duct

i.e. you multiply the perimeter of the duct by the length fo the duct to arrive at the area.

Please check whether you have stated the units correctly. i.e is it a 30 feet x 20 feet duct ???!!!

hi friends:

thank u very much for your valuable equation HVAC68.

now if i want to estimate the quantity of insulation what is equation i must used ?

if the duct is round in this case what is the equation i must used to estimate (the cost per square feet)?

thanks again for your equation

best regrds

Calculate the perimeter and multiply by the length.

For a circular duct, the perimeter would be 2?R, where R is the radius.

It should read as 2 (pie) R. i.e. 2 x 3.14 x R
