Several months ago, I bumped into a topic for allowing the use of a duplex in a section 1 application. I believe it was based on a code case, but cannot remember enough of the details to pin this down. I know it has not generally been allowed for some time, but I think there was a change in the last series of code.

I have a question from a potential customer about using the 2205 as end plates on a header and tubes welded to the header (header is carbon WPB).

Any assistance would be appreciated or if you can at least point me in the right direction, I would be grateful.

Thanks!

No, this material is not permitted for Section I application. There is no code case for Section I. This material is permitted for Section VIII, Div 1 application.

Agreed. The only thing I came up with was the statement in PG 9.7 that allows use of this as an economizer or feedwater heater. Thanks for the feedback!
