Durability/fatigue

In NX there is a good chance to estimate the life of any component using the durability application in NX Nastran.
You can run the solver using the linear analysis results or the nonlinear results (sol106) by checking use Non-Linear Results' under 'Solve Options'.
However, when I combined the sol106+durability solver the following warning popup

SOL106 does not have strain results for computing fatigue life outputs

it seems that the durability read only the linear value for fatigue-life calcultion

this question worthy to submit to Siemens if possible as it critical, but even though I use a university license i could not find submit it as they ask for the key which is for the license buyer, not me, its should be at the uni.

any idea would be appreciated

Hello Wazy01,

Strain result is not computed by default. The default results computed are:
1. Displacement
2. Stress
3. Reaction force

To request additional output result, you need to select Strain in the Output Request. To do that,
1. In Simulation Navigator, in Sim mode, right-click your Solution, select Edit Solution
2. In the Solution dialog box, select Case Control tab
3. For Output Request entry, click Edit.
4. In the Structural Output Request, from the list of result, find Strain.
5. Check Enable STRAIN Request.

It is not a software bug. Please dont make rushed conclusion without learning the software in the first place. Please note that Siemens NX Academic license grants all license capability, there is no restriction when using academic license. For example, Siemens NX dont restrict mesh limits, solution types etc..
