Does anyone know how to convert .dwg files to .gif. I am using autocad 2002 and am trying to make my files move such as gears or engines (cut away to show the internal parts. Is there a converter that will convert .dwg to .gif?? Or maybe I don't necessesarily need .Gif but can use something like .Jpg ??? Thanks, Chris

Dear oxyact,
The SAVEIMG and EXPORT commands can produce some graphical formats for your drawing.

You can plot to a TIF or JPG file if you load the appropriate plotter configuration under the OPTIONS window. You could also buy Adobe Acrobat (+- $250) and then you could create your own PDF files, which have better resolution than the TIF or JPG in ACAD. OR...you could buy Coreldraw and import dwg files directly and create whatever file type you want (tif, jpg, etc.). Good luck.

FYI,
In addition to the last post, just use the Add a printer wizard and create a MY COMPUTER - HEIDI driver printer config. When the Manufacturer list box is shown, select the raster file format and pick the format you want. Remember to plot to file and you should be good to go. Good luck.

Paint Shop Pro from JASC will import .dwg and save to .gif. I just got a copy on sale with a mail-in rebate that made the final cost $40. And it includes an animation program.
