Hi, I'm trying to model a dynamic analyis like the ansys tutorial one where u have the box falling down onto the table.

For my analysis I have a projectile hitting a rectangular specimen. When I run the analysis I get error 5. It then tells me to check the message file. What is this message file?

My error file:

*** WARNING *** CP = 5.578 TIME= 13:35:53
Meshes made up of 10 percent or more of PLANE162 triangles are not
recommended.

*** WARNING *** CP = 5.672 TIME= 13:35:56
No constraints have been defined using the D command.

*** ERROR *** CP = 5.875 TIME= 13:35:58
ANSYS LS-DYNA run is terminated with 5 ERROR.
Please check the message File.

My projectile is modelled as a rigid flyer with aluminium properties. My target speciemen is modelled as liner isotropic with epoxy properties.

I have chosen the 2d solid plane162 element.

I have then followed the ansys tutorial exactly in regards to defining the 2 compoonents. Creating array parameters for time and acceleration. I inputted an intial velocity of 15m/s onto the projectile, and for loading options an acceleration of 375m/s in the x direction towards the specimen. My solution time is 1 sec and no. of substeps is 50 in output controls just like the tutorial.

I have enclosed my .db file, if someone could have a look and tell me what is wrong, thanks!

PS I did the ansys tutorial and it worked fine...
