Have looked a bit to try and find a solution, hoping that it's something simple that I've missed. Is there a way to nest a dynamic block, that is stretchable for width, inside another dynamic block, that is also stretchable for width, and have the nested one update when the main block is stretched?
I have looked into the chaining setting, but that only appears to work if both aspects are within the same block, not a parent and nested. If there is a way to get that to chain from parent dynamic, to nested dynamic, that's what I'm looking for, but couldn't figure it out.
I have also tried to tie the grip for the nested block coincident with the side of the block in the parent, but I can't get it to tie to the stretch grip for the nested, so...... at a bit of a loss.
As an example, if you have a block for a door, that is 3'-0" wide nominal, but changeable, that block is a linear stretch. It gets inserted into a block for an assembly, that is a variable width, but always with a 1' step at the ends of the door. 3' door = 5' assembly. There are a number of different assemblies, that all have the same door block inserted.
If the assembly gets stretched to 6', I want the door block to stretch to 4', but I want to leave it as an individual block, so if it gets revised, it's one change, to apply to all the different assemblies. The only way I have been able to get it to work, is explode the nested door, but then that means revising all the assemblies when the door changes.
Long painful explanation, sorry..... really straightforward when you see it, hope there's an easy solution.
