Somebody help me differentiate Dynamic Viscosity to Kinematic Viscosity..thanks a lot

All you have to remember is which one to divide by density to get the other. Best you check, as i always have to do, with a quick internet search.

Kinematic Viscosity is the term normally given to a coefficient which describes the diffusion of momentum. The formula for it is normally given as

v=n/rho where n is the dynamic viscosity and rho the density of the material under consideration.

The units for kinematic viscosity are the Stoke

The dynamic viscosity of a material is usually defined from the term

|shear stress|=n|strain rate|

For a newtonian fluid it is calculated from the following formula

Stress = n du/dy

The relationship between shear stress and strain rate is also known as the materials rheology

The units of dynamic viscosity are the poise
