Hello ABAQUS users,
I need some help from you people. I am trying to
simulate dynamic loading of a three dimensional rigid
surface (for the tyre) on a pavement. I am able to
move the tyre using the dynamic explicit module (i am
following the template roll3d33d.inp with minor
changes in the boundary conditions).
But even when i increase the point load on the
reference point i am not able to see any change in the
deformation or stresses in the pavement. I would like
to give some weight to the tyre to c the deformation.

In brief i am tyring to simulate the tire moving on a pavement. I would appreciate if you can give me some steps in implementing the same as i am an amateur in this abaqus software.

Thanks for your time and effort in answering this thread in advance.

Anyone can say any books on ABAQUS (not manuals) that explains the steps to do the dynamic analysis will be helpful to me

I would strongly advise you to work through, "Getting Started with ABAQUS/Explicit: Interactive Edition" This book assumes no previous ABAQUS knowledge and takes you through ABAQUS in an easy to use - step by step fasion. There is also one for ABAQUS/Standard as well.

If you are applying a load and you don't see a deformation - make sure that you have not artifically scaled up your mass in /Explicit or given it too small of a time step to overcome inertia.
