E-bike adventure

[Tips for Chips]

Hi everybody,

I've just began to work in a start up of e-bikes. The bikes are station based e-bikes.

The other day one of my bosses told me that I should ask to the other boss (who is an engineer) the info to get ready for the first installation.
He suggested things like: workstations for the e-bikes, padlocks etc.

Would you share with me how this kind of installations are done?
What are the different components required?
Anything else you think would help me make a good first impression?

It's the firts decent job after a long period of occasional shitty jobs and I really don't want to look like a dumbass ..

A good engineer will admit when they don't know something... there's nothing wrong with clearly stating "This is my first time doing 'X'. I'm not sure if this covers everything, so can you suggest some broad (or more specific) topics I need to look into?" You won't look like a dumbass, you'll look like someone who is concerned they're doing everything they can to make sure the job is done correctly.

I suggest you look at how existing e-bikes or e-scooters like Lime are doing things. Lime, of course, doesn't use docks, but they've got GPS and some sort of data connection so their battery truck knows where each scooter is and how much charge it has left and can plan out routes to replace the batteries in-situ. I think if you Google enough, you'll find a wealth of information.
