Earth Fault Monitoring Equipment 1

My project use Earth Fault Monitoring equipment in
Panel Distribution Board 24 VDC

Anyway, I really want to know principle of it how it work
I just know that within this equipment, a measuring signal is generated
I just know that it is used for monitor insulation resistance
but the other things, I don't know how does it measure insulation resistance
and etc. like what wave form is generated, how does it know insulation resistance down..........
and many many question about it
I have a lot of question on it, because I don't know principle about this equipment

They have good descriptions on how insulation monitoring works, both for AC and DC systems.

Basically, the meter circulates a small current thru the power system and back to earth-ground. As that current increases, that shows the insulation decreasing.

There are filters and several other components, but that is the basics of it.
