Hi Guys,
I am surely missing something simple here so please excuse me! When I set up my assembly file using the New/Assembly template and then add a new part from an existing part file the edge blends on the parts are not shown properly. This is also the case if I go into drafting. How do I make the parts show exactly as they are with all details in the assembly?

many thanks,
John

At a guess the assembly is showing faceted representations that are out of date. Try changing your reference sets to "model" or whatever you've locally named the one containing the solid geometry. You may also need to update any out of date faceted representations by either saving the affected parts or deleting and recreating them if necessary.

Could you provide an image showing the blends? That being said, I suspect that Hudson may be right in that it could be a problem with you seeing faceted representations of your components in the assembly.

Hi Guys,
many thanks for the advice. I deleted the part in question which was showing facets instead of blends and added it to the assembly again which now works fine...

best regards,
John

If it was a faceted representation, you didn't need to delete it, but rather just select it, press MB3, select 'Replace Reference Set' and change it from from Facet to Model.

BTW, starting with NX 7.5 you won't need to concern yourself with Facet Reference Sets anymore as 'lightweight' assemblies become the norm (but users will still have control).
