Hello,

I'm looking for a standard method to test the allowable microstrain of an impacted composite edge. Something similar to ASTM D7137 (CAI) or ASTM D3039 (TAI) but applied to edges.
Thanks.

AFAIK such a std does not exist. You will need to adapt existing stds.

What you are looking for sounds somewhat like the "edge delamination strength" test. It may proprietary test method that works similar to a tensile test but but the specimen is made from +/-45 degree laminate. The edges of the specimen are painted white (with something like "White Out" correction fluid). The the specimen is loaded until longitudinal cracks are observed at the edges.

Thank you.
Something like "impacted edge delamination strength" could work.
