Hi,

Long time ago I mad a sketch witch I used for a revolve feature. However, now I have to edit/adapt the sketch because the form of my revolved part must be changed. I opened the sketch with edit and removed some lines of the sketch with trim and closed the curves with extend. I closed the sketcher and I get an error message (Update failure message is: Gaps in string or multiple loops.) that NX (7.5) can't make the revolve any more. If I look again to the sketched lines, I see that some lines that I removed in the sketch are still there. So my curves are not closed any more. However, if I open the sketch again, these line are really removed. How can I solve this? I think that some lines are still kept in the revolve feature which I removed in the sketch.

While in the sketch select edit... edit defining section and remove the old lines.

This is a functionality that was lost a few versions ago. In the past when the user picked "edit defining string" the system would highlight the curves in their current form, if one of the elements was nolonger a part of the closed loop it would be obvious. now when you pick "edit defining string" it shows you the last successful loop which can be very hard to compare with the current shape.

This is from an NX5 point of view. I hope this can be repaired at some point. Clearly not in NX7.5 oh well.
