I am wondering if anyone out there knows, generally, what the depth of the frost line is in the Edmonton area.

I am assuming that I can bury a raw water pipeline 8 feet below ground, and the water in the line will not freeze.

I suspect frost penetration varies widely dependent on many factors (while I don't know about the accuracy or dependability of same for design purposes, you may want to look e.g. at Figure 1 at the site and e.g. also say th einformation including a freeze index map like on pg 11 of site Hopefully you will get perhaps better experience-type response from area.

In a similar thread some time back, someone suggested asking local undertakers. They'll know.
