I am redesigning at a process that uses open-ended wrenches to tighten hydraulic hoses. I have tried to use some ratcheting wrenches, however due to space issues this has had little success.
Any chance at using a "quick connect" or other type of connection rather than a threaded one for your application? Sometimes a minor design change can make building a product a whole bunch easier.
Hydraulic hoses in general are difficult to use specialized tools unless the application is specifically designed for their use. Hose to hose connections, hose to tube connection, and 3-way connections are hose connections where it would be difficult to use automated equipment.
The bigger problem is stopping leaks especially in SAE fittings. Face seal fittings are not as problematic.
