Gents,
AH36 and EH36 are typical high tensile marine plates grades.
1) AH36 or EH 36 is not listed in ASME section IX. In case a material is not listed in ASME and you want to develop a WPS based on ASME how would you do that? What would you put as P. No. and Group No.?
2) If you have an approved WPS for ASTM A106 Grade B (I think it’s P. No. 1, Group 1) and the repair involves a high tensile marine plate (here AH 36), Is it correct to accept a mild steel WPS (as in A106 Gr. B) and based on that do a repair involving AH36 material?
