My model is being elastically deformed (with NLGEOM=on) and consists of a twin boundary. I am new to the field of finite element simulations (and ABAQUS) and would like to hear your thoughts on how to incorporate the twin boundary.
I am currently simulating the boundary in the following way:
1) I divide the model into sections.
2) I use Elastic material behavior and specify the 9 engineering constants (3 in my case, because the material is cubic).
3) I specify the local material orientations. The orientations of each section differs because of the twin boundary.
Is this model sufficient to account for deformation across a twin boundary? Please let me know your thoughts.
