"Harbour Air plans to buy 50 Magnix propulsion systems for envisioned all-electric fleet".

Harbour Air, out of Vancouver, have been trailing an electric powered Beaver for some time. Seems there's enough of a commercial case that they want to expand their operation. I don't believe TCCA has approved the electric powerplant.

That's about the same energy density as Tesla's graphite Li calls. It's good that it is sodium, Lithium extraction is messy and ugly.

Since a battery powered aircraft would likely use a propeller, the better choice would be super efficient Jet-A burning diesel recip engines.
 
I guess the "best" solution (in the short term) is using "green" gas.
