Dear Members,

I was wondering if you know of any Ex rated electronic measuring device for valve Face-to-Face/end-to-end distance in a oil and gas plant?
Appreciate your help.

GD2 - You should know better than to post in two forums at the same time?

But what's wrong with a tape measure?

Remember - More details = better answers

And there are laser equivalents of tape measures if you want to get fancier. The cheapo LDMs from eBay often have mm-resolution, although accuracy is a bit sketchy. Nevertheless, that's most a matter of money, so pay more for a name brand with better bonafides for accuracy.

It really depends on the dimensions. Are you working <100mm or more like 500mm?

We looked at various optical (laser) units but found them too particular about surfaces and ambient lighting to be useful in the field.

For me that's a tape measure and a flashlight.
