Can anybody tell me if they know of any good resources/references where I can access technical data about the kind of damage that happens to electronics due to power quality problems like surges, harmonics, grounding problems etc.? This can be on component or system level?

Hello,

Companies like Dranetz and BMI that make
power line disturbance loggers have some
application notes that are useful. You
might try the Ezine version of the former
Power Quality Magazine at

Check with EPRI (Electrical Power Research
Institute) for available documents.

This company tells of some interesting case
studies I don't know
anything about them though.

Several computer companies like HP IBM and
the defunct DEC, funded power quality research
which you might find on the web. It's a long
shot though.

Best regards and good luck.
